Sharing and clean rooms

Choose a delivery pattern for the data, output and partner involved.

Choose the sharing pattern from the output.

Use a controlled query when recipients need limited results, a live share when they need governed access to the current dataset, or an export when they need a portable file or their own retention schedule. A clean room can constrain collaboration workflows and outputs where supported.

Prove the route by cloud and region.

A sharing mechanism can differ between same-region and cross-region use. Verify whether the service creates copies, which account pays, how refresh works, and which data or object types are supported. Read current regional availability and edition requirements.

Design for the end of the relationship.

Set a recipient, purpose and expiry before access begins. Revocation can stop new reads, while recipient-held copies or previously returned outputs need separate handling. Record deletion, incident routing and the logs each party can inspect.
