PLATFORM REFERENCE
Compare data cloud approaches.
Start with the workload and the evidence you need. The examples below show where to look and what to test for the deployment you are considering.
References checked 6 November 2026. Product announcements can include previews and proposed availability. Confirm edition, region and version for your evaluation.
Snowflake
Horizon Catalog and governed sharing
Use Horizon documentation to qualify the catalog and engine path. For a share or clean room, check the cloud and region pair, account edition and whether fulfilment creates a copy.
Proof to collect. Run an allowed and denied query as two recipient identities and measure revocation. Compare a same-region path against a cross-region scenario.
Databricks
Unity Catalog and OpenSharing
Check the particular Iceberg and Delta operations your engine versions expose through Unity Catalog. OpenSharing extends Delta Sharing, with support varying by asset and client.
Proof to collect. Read a named snapshot from two engines and exercise schema evolution, credentials and any target writes. Test the recipient client with the actual asset type.

Cloudera
Anywhere Cloud and hybrid placement
Use the Anywhere Cloud announcement to frame questions about on-premises, private cloud and public cloud deployments. Confirm the supported feature, geography and operating model with the provider.
Proof to collect. Map control and data planes, backups, support access and telemetry. Run a restore exercise and compare the hands-on effort and transfer volumes for each option.
